Borneo Continued

July 6, 2010

My friend and I decided we wanted to have an adventure- so I suggested Borneo. We ended up going to the Malaysian side of Borneo which is technically only 26% of the actual island. The places that we went to felt like time moved slower there. Everything that I had read or watched in movies about Southeast Asia in the 70s still seemed to be the now. We learned to understand the jungle and the fishermen and could imagine why life has always been so simple and tough there. But there was also a wonderful curiosity and warmth about the culture that I fell in love with.
