Awkward Family Photos- Some Holiday Card Advice

December 11, 2010

This time of year we always get a lot of Holiday Cards with family photos on them. I started to think of things that should NOT be on Holiday cards and came across the book, Awkward Family Photos. Here are some of the photos from the book with my advice to those of you who are thinking of taking family photos this year.

1. If you have teenagers- try to make them happy.

2. Even if your child is weird looking, try to accept them.

3. Don’t make your family dress up like this.

4. Matching outfits are not good either.

5. An evolution of a punk family. Remember to accept a family’s differences.

6. Try to look like you actually know each other.

Or like each other.

7. Choosing the right props are very important. Weapons or dustbusters can be misunderstood.

8. Squished heads are never a good look for anyone.

9. This was a bad idea.

10. Try to make it clear who is the parent.

11. Try to not make it look like your husband has a god complex.

12. Prom photos are for teenagers, not families.

13. Things you should never do with babies.

Guns and babies should not be mixed.

No matter what your intentions are, scared babies do not make good photos.

Do not feed your baby to ANY animal.

Angry babies are not good either.

14. Not all themes are good themes.

15. Nudity should be a no-no.

Hopefully my tips can help you. At the end of the day, try to keep it classy.

Happy Holidays!!!

I actually saw the one with the little boy seated away from the rest of his family (pic. #2) on a greeting card the other day. The inside read something like Sorry We Couldn’t Be Together for Your Birthday. This picture makes me laugh and makes me sad at the same time. I just want to pick that little boy up and give him a big hug.
