Little Italy Street Art Project

September 13, 2013

I recently found out about the L.I.S.A. Project (Little Italy Street Art) when strolling through Little Italy. It was not until the third mural that I felt like these murals were different. In New York there is rarely such a condensed street art population.
I later found out that the L.I.S.A. Project was established by Ralph Tramontana President of the Little Italy Merchants Association and is under creative direction of Wayne Rada and RJ Rushmore.
The mission is to bring a diverse group of street artists together in the Little Italy area of downtown on historic Mulberry Street, between Broome and Canal to create Manhattan’s only mural district. To encourage New Yorkers, art fans and tourists alike to visit or revisit Little Italy to view and photograph the art work. As Ralph Tramontana says “What’s more Italian then food and art,” they have the food and the L.I.S.A. Project is working on the art.
